The 2011 CFDA Fashion Awards was an assemblage of glamour, color and high fashion held at fashion capital New York City on Monday.

The annual event acknowledges outstanding contributions made to American fashion by individuals from different sectors of the industry and related arts, with awards being given for design excellence in womenswear, menswear and accessories as well as extraordinary accomplishments in journalism, creative vision and lifetime achievement.

There is no other event that puts the spotlight on American fashion like The CFDA Fashion Awards, stated Steven Kolb, CFDA executive director. Winning a CFDA Fashion Award is the highest and one of the most coveted honors one can receive in our industry.

Winning this year's Fashion Icon Award is Lady Gaga who received the award from the stage almost teary-eyed. Past winners of the award include Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Moss.

However, the show-stopper of the event was Victoria's Secret angel, Miranda Kerr dressed in a stunning black gown with gold belt and matching gladiator-style cuffs.
