Lady Gaga 'Sound Of Music' Tribute: Julie Andrews Thanks Singer, Twitter Reacts To Oscar Performance [VIDEO]
As the 87th Academy Awards winds down, Lady Gaga took to the stage to give one of the best performances of the evening – a tribute to “The Sound of Music.” The performance included “My Favorite Things” and “The Hills are Alive.”
“The Sound of Music” won five awards during the 1966 Oscars – best picture, best director, best sound, best film editing and best score. Lady Gaga’s tribute was part of the 50th anniversary of the film. The film’s star, Julie Andrews, took the stage after Gaga sang to thank her.
“Thank you for that wonderful tribute,” Andrews said after hugging her. “It really warmed my heart.”
“It’s hard to believe that 50 years have gone by since that joyous film was released,” she continued. “I blinked and suddenly here I am.”
