Lady Gaga gave an impressive performance of singing the national anthem at last year’s Super Bowl. Turns out that her performance even impressed the NFL since they had asked her to perform for the Super Bowl half time show in 2017. And Gaga graciously accepted the request.

The “Perfect Illusion” singer confirmed that she will be headlining the 2017 Super Bowl half time show in a tweet. “It’s not an illusion,” Gaga wrote as a nod to her newly released single, “This year the SUPER BOWL goes GAGA!”

Over the summer, Adele was also asked to perform at the Super Bowl half time show next year but she declined the gig. The “Hello” singer told her fans during a concert in Los Angeles in August, “I mean, come on, that show is not about music.” She also said she doesn’t dance.

Rumors of the “American Horror Story” actress being asked to perform at the event have been swirling online since the last few months. It is only now that we have official confirmation that she will sing and dance at the event.

“I was waiting for @ladygaga to confirm it but hey, she finally did it! #SuperBowl #LadyGagaSuperBowl2017,” wrote one little monster.

“Lady Gaga will be performing next year Superbowl 5. YAASSS! Can’t wait for this!” wrote another fan.

Mother Monster will perform at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, on Feb. 5, 2017. The game will air on Fox.
