The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the big teams to watch next NBA season following the acquisition of key players. Anthony Davis leads the pack of new players donning the purple and gold. Other notable names include Avery Bradley, Danny Green and Dwight Howard.

Of the new faces in the Lakers' fold, there is no doubt that all eyes will be on Davis. Can he co-exist with James? It appears the three-time NBA champion is ready to do so. In fact, he believes that Los Angeles should maximize Davis and let him do his thing, ESPN reported.

"We do all know how good Anthony Davis is, and if we are not playing through Anthony Davis while he is on the floor, then there's no sense to have him on the floor," James said. "He's that great. It doesn't mean every time down, we throw it to him, we throw it to him, we throw it to him. But we have the ability of doing it."

James and Davis have had ample time to get to know each other well. But this early, it seems that both have mutual respect for each other. Both want to win and the task of bringing the glory back to Hollywood is beaming bright.

"We're going to feed off each other tremendously. I think we're two guys who are very selfless and just want to win, when we have two guys like that it makes both of our jobs easier," said Davis.

Factor in the new and old faces such as Rajon Rondo, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, JaVale McGee and a hopefully returning Kyle Kuzma, there is reason to believe the Lakers can overcome the odds of a tough Western Conference.

Like the Lakers, there are other teams which have improved. That includes their hometown rivals, the Los Angeles Clippers, who now have Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. The Houston Rockets are another team that got an upgrade with Russell Westbrook. The 2017 NBA Most Valuable Player reunited with James Harden after that trade involving Chris Paul.

And as mentioned in a previous post, the Golden State Warriors cannot be counted out. They are entering the 2019-20 season in rebuild mode after losing Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala, and Shaun Livingston. Klay Thompson is doubtful for the season, meaning their success will hinge largely on Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
