The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly targeting upcoming NBA free agent Kemba Walker after successfully adding Anthony Davis to their roster.

Now that the Lakers have Davis in their team, it appears that the franchise is in the process of searching for an additional All-Star player that will complete their powerhouse line-up. Sources claimed that the next All-Star player the Lakers may likely to pursue is Charlotte Hornets star Kemba Walker.

Walker is set to be a free agent this offseason and his name was previously included in the top free agent prospects list. Several teams were linked with Walker’s name in the past including Orlando Magic, Indiana Pacers, New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers.

The eight-year NBA veteran has already expressed his highest interest in staying with the Hornets and in a recent interview, Walker even said that he is willing to take less offer from the team just to prolong his stay in Charlotte, ESPN reported.

"Yeah, why not? I would take less, for sure," Walker said Thursday when asked if he would opt to stay with Hornets even if the offer will not be a max contract.

Although Walker currently puts the Hornets as his top priority, the All-Star point guard is “pretty sure” that he will be open for other interested teams, and in fact eager to hear about what other teams can offer before wrapping up for a decision.

"That all factors in [to my decision] when I sit down with the teams and hear what guys have to say. I think that will all come into play. I'm not really sure right now. Like I said, Charlotte is my first priority and I have to see what [the Hornets] have to offer, as well as other teams,” Walker pointed out.

Charlotte, for their part, is reportedly feeling the same way about making Walker stay with the team. Hornets GM Mitch Kupchak has once said that the team will "everything we can" to re-sign Walker, the franchise's all-time leading scorer.

But as good as Walker and the Hornets want to prolong their relationship, the Lakers seem to target Kemba and may devise another great offer just like what they have done with the Davis deal, but of course, it may not be as massive as Davis’.

Marc Stein has tweeted that Walker will the next top free agent on the Lakers’ list as soon as an agreement for Davis is finally done, according to SB Nation.

And now that Davis is officially a Laker, it is expected that news of Lakers pursuing Walker is next on the line.
