Lamar Odom Drugs: Kevin Durant, John Wall Support Khloe Kardashian's Husband Amid Crack Cocaine Rumors
NBA stars Kevin Durant and John Wall voiced their support for Lamar Odom amid rumors that the 33-year-old basketball player is struggling with drug addiction.
Recent reports have suggested that Odom’s marriage to reality television star Khloe Kardashian has been under stress due to the NBA star’s ongoing problem with crack cocaine. In separate interviews, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Kevin Durant and Washington Wizards point guard John Wall commented on Odom’s struggles.
“I just hope he figures it out. That’s it,” Wall told TMZ. Durant expressed a similar sentiment, telling a reporter that the NBA was a “brotherhood” and that Odom had the support of his fellow players.
Despite encouragement from Wall and Durant, Odom’s personal life continues to unravel this week. The 33-year-old and Kardashian separated last Wednesday after she kicked him out of the couple’s Los Angeles home, TMZ reports. According to sources close to their marriage, Kardashian will not reunite with Odom until he admits that he has a drug problem and checks himself into rehab.
Odom reportedly disappeared from the Los Angeles area, TMZ reports. Sources close to the NBA player claimed on Sunday that he hadn’t been heard from for more than three days, prompting fears that he was in the midst of a “crack cocaine binge.” A representative confirmed to TMZ on Sunday that Odom was fine, but did not reveal his whereabouts.
According to TMZ’s sources, Odom has been a heavy crack cocaine user for at least two years, when the NBA forward was a member of the Dallas Mavericks. The 33-year-old reportedly went to rehab about a year ago and managed to maintain sobriety throughout the 2012-13 NBA season. However, his drug problem intensified after the season ended, to the point that he rejected Kardashian’s bid at an intervention.
Kardashian has reportedly managed to keep Odom’s crack cocaine problem a secret from both her family and the public, despite the fact that the couple has been married for over three years. Sources close to the Kardashian family claim that sisters Kourtney and Kim only found out about the drug issue “very recently,” TMZ reports.
Furthermore, Khloe Kardashian reportedly believes that Odom’s alleged infidelity stems from his drug use, TMZ reports. Neither the NBA star nor his representatives have commented on his alleged crack cocaine addiction.
