Lamar Odom Rehab Update: Khloé Kardashian's Ex-Husband Is Doing Well, Divorce Is Finalized: Report
Former Los Angeles Lakers player Lamar Odom is doing well since he entered rehab Monday, People Magazine reported the next day. The former husband of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” reality star Khloé Kardashian is in a positive state of mind a year after he nearly died from an overdose.
“He drove himself, it was his idea,” an insider told the publication about Odom getting help. “He’s going to be gone during the holidays, which is when people have relapses and problems.” The source added: “[Lamar]’s being very adult and mature and just wants to be a great father and brother, a better friend.”
The holidays are normally a time for people to party, but Odom wants to lay low. “The goal is for him to be inside during Christmas and New Years. Crazy things happen during those times. There’s been amazing reports from the doctors thus far. He’s doing extraordinary well, he’s in great spirits,” the source said.
His divorce from Kardashian has been on-and-off for years, but it will be finalized Friday, Entertainment Tonight Online reported Tuesday. They both signed divorce papers in October. Neither of them will receive spousal support.
Kardashian filed for divorce the first time Dec. 13, 2013. They finally signed the paperwork July 2015, but the divorce was called off when Odom was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel that October. Kardashian wanted to make medical decisions for her then estranged husband, which is why she canceled the proceedings. Even though rumors swirled Kardashian might rekindle her romance with Odom, she continued to date other men.
At the time it was rapper French Montana and Houston Rockets star James Harden, but now she calls Cleveland Cavaliers player Tristan Thompson her beau. Thompson is typically featured on her Snapchat account. Rumors once swirled that she was pregnant with his child, though she never commented on the gossip.
