The owner of a Lamborghini got unlucky when the quarter-million-dollar sports car was totaled in a crash just 20 minutes after leaving the showroom.

The ill-fated Huracan Spyder, which cost at least $265,000, stopped on the M1 in West Yorkshire, U.K. after suffering mechanical failure when an “innocent motorist” rear-ended it, West Yorkshire Police said in a tweet.

The photos that accompanied the post showed the black beauty with a shattered back end.

“It’s only a car!” they said, adding that they “#couldhavecried” over the destruction of a luxury motor this pricey.

BBC said the officers were called about a two-vehicle crash around 8:00 a.m. (EST) near junction 40. Police didn’t identify the owner of the car. The driver of the other vehicle suffered head injuries which were not so serious.

It was not known if the vehicle was brand-new or a used one.

Part of the highway was shut down after the incident as the officers cleared out the Lamborghini and the van, causing large delays, Yorkshire Live reported.

It took the officers nearly two hours to remove the vehicles and all lanes were reopened after that.

Back in 2011, as many as eight Ferraris were destroyed in a Japanese highway crash. The multi-vehicle collision also involved three Mercedes and a Lamborghini. It all happened when the driver of one of the Ferraris attempted to switch lanes but ended up crashing into the median, thus causing the massive pileup. A total of $1 million in damages was recorded as a result of the crash. It took over six hours for the police to clear out the crash site. No injuries were reported.
