A Las Vegas man was arrested for what police called a “thrill killing” of a sleeping homeless man and an unprovoked shooting of another man who was walking his dog in a park.

The arrest of Noah Green, 21, was made Friday, July 18, near his apartment in the Las Vegas Strip. He was being held at the Clark County jail, ABC News reported.

Brent Lloyd, 48, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head near Decatur Boulevard and Pennwood Avenue on July 13, sparking a homicide investigation. Police retrieved a surveillance video of the incident which depicted the attack was unprovoked and the suspect entering an apartment complex right after the shooting.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police canvassed the area and kept showing the video to residents and one person on July 15 recognized the suspect as a resident of the apartment complex seen in the video.

That same day, police were alerted about another shooting involving a man who was walking his dog in a park not far away from where Lloyd was shot. The unidentified second victim survived the gunshot.

Police launched a manhunt for Green and seized a 9mm handgun from his pocket after his arrest. A digital forensics team that reviewed Green’s phone found videos of the two shootings in it, according to NBC 3.

Police Lt. Ray Spencer told reporters on Monday, July 21, that Green didn’t interact with either of the victims before the shootings.

“It appears that it is a thrill killing,” Police Lt. Ray Spencer said of Lloyd’s death. “This is a homeless person who was sleeping, and the unprovoked shooting of the man walking his dog. The videos are absolutely disturbing.”

He said police were working to determine if Green had committed other crimes in the area.

According to jail records, Green was facing charges such as murder, attempted murder, concealed weapon and jaywalking. The anticipated date of his court appearance wasn’t immediately known.
