Las Vegas Man Fatally Shoots 2 Sons Before Killing Himself In Suspected Double-Murder Suicide
In an alleged case of double murder-suicide, a man fatally shot his two teenage sons before killing himself. The incident took place in Las Vegas on Friday.
Police responded to a home in the 3900 block of Chasing Heart Way near Nellis and Craig around 10.30 p.m. after receiving a shooting report. The officers found a teenage girl climbing out of the residence through the window.
She told the officers that her father had opened fire inside the home and that her two brothers were inside the residence. The SWAT team was immediately called to the scene.
The officers entered the home and found the two teenage boys dead from gunshot wounds. The body of the father was also found with a gunshot wound that was self-inflicted.
Investigation into the incident was ongoing and police said the wife of the man was not at home when the shooting took place.
The incident comes days after a man in Norwalk killed himself after killing his two children in the garage of a dilapidated property. The incident came to light after a woman, believed to be a family member, raised an alarm when she discovered the bodies. Police said 27-year-old Yimi Moncada killed his two children, aged five and four, before killing himself.
Speaking about the incident, the head of Norwalk Police Detective Bureau, Lt. Thomas Mattera had said, “What I can say is that this was a very traumatic incident and we are doing all we can to help the family.”
