‘The Last Of Us 2’ PS4 Release Date Confirmed For February 2020
One of the most anticipated games today just got a release date, and fans are getting hyped about it.
Naughty Dog has just confirmed that it is releasing the highly anticipated PlayStation exclusive “The Last Of Us Part II” next year, specifically on Feb. 21, 2020. This information was revealed via a trailer that also showed a lot of new details about the upcoming game.
The trailer, revealed by Sony, showed the game’s protagonist, Ellie, as she goes out for revenge. While the trailer doesn’t explicitly reveal why she is out for it, the 3-minute video does hint that it could have some connection with another character named Dina - her love interest, as shown in a trailer revealed last year, The Verge reported.
The new trailer reveals more details about the game. It showed several scenes where characters go out on horseback during snowy weather and when they’re in a boat. The video also revealed new threats, like new monsters and humans that players probably wouldn’t want to be involved with in the game.
Some fans who saw the trailer speculated that the trailer actually revealed the game’s plot. The theory goes this way: Ellie forms a bond with Dina, but Dina gets kidnapped. Ellie looks for her, but gets captured as well and sees her friend get killed. In response, Ellie vows to get revenge on the people who killed Dina, and goes out to do it on her own, despite Tommy’s discouragements and warnings.
Ellie’s quest, as the trailer reveals, proves to be a brutal one. There are scenes where the heroine stabs and slashes enemies with a knife, shoots an enemy with a shotgun at point black range, gets hold of an enemy’s ax and kills him with it, and gets shot with an arrow buts pulls it off. There are also scenes where she’s attacked by dogs, monsters and the infected.
Undoubtedly, Ellie’s quest seems too big, but she’s not alone. The trailer revealed that Joel is alive and will go with her. The video also showed that Ellie’s face softened the moment she realized that her father figure was the one holding her. It seems that the new game will again be an adventure between the two familiar characters.
“The Last Of Us Part II” will be released for the PlayStation 4 on Feb. 21 next year. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
