“The Elder Scrolls 6” is one of the most anticipated titles, but if the latest claim from an insider is to be believed, it looks like the next installment to the popular “The Elder Scrolls” series is not releasing anytime soon.

The latest information about the release window of “The Elder Scrolls 6” comes from industry insider Tyler McVicker through Comicbook. The insider shared several details about some rumored incoming Bethesda titles, including “Fallout New Vegas 2.” The most interesting part of the claim is the release window of “TES 6,” which would reportedly happen on 2026, at the earliest.

McVicker does not reveal many details about the release window of “The Elder Scrolls 6.” He cites that Bethesda is currently working on “Starfield,” which, like “TES 6,” has no official release window yet. The gaming studio officially announced the sixth installment to the “TES” series at the E3 2018.

At that time, it released an announcement trailer but did not say anything about its release date. In several interviews in the past, Bethesda’s Todd Howard repeatedly said that it would take some time before they could announce the release date of “The Elder Scrolls 6.” He once said that they might announce something related to the game after the launch of “Starfield.”

Assuming that the timeline revealed by the insider is accurate, by the time “The Elder Scrolls 6” launches, the new generation gaming consoles PS5 and Xbox Series XIS would be almost over. Gaming console makers usually launch a new generation of consoles or an upgraded version of consoles five of six years after release.

Todd Howard also warned fans in the past that Bethesda is developing “TES 6” in a way that it could be playable 10 years after it was released. At the time of this publication, the only confirmed detail about “The Elder Scrolls 6” is that it’s currently in development at Bethesda and that it’s going to use a new game engine. It’s worth noting that the insider’s claim is not official, so fans should take the details with a pinch of salt.
