The fresh footages include those captured by local witnesses, who have posted on the internet, as well as those filmed by various media outlets.

An online publication, BoingBoing has also featured a terrifying eyewitness video of tsunami destroying an entire town. James MacWhyte, a US citizen who lives in Tokyo, is reported to have shot this six-minute video of the Japan tsunami destroying a town in the northern part of the country, the report published on Sunday said, adding that some observers have identified the site as Kesennuma, in Miyagi Prefecture.
