  • An inventory wipe bug has been plaguing "Outriders"
  • Some players are not playing the game because of it
  • Square Enix addressed this issue in its latest patch
  • Devs will monitor the patch over the weekend to see if it works

Square Enix has announced the release of a new "Outriders" patch that would prevent players from experiencing the inventory wipe bug. While the latest update solves the issue of players having their inventories deleted, it does not restore lost inventories as of yet. According to developers, item restoration will be available later.

"Outriders" update 1.06 was released on April 15 across PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PS5 and Stadia. The patch is primarily intended to address the contentious inventory swipe bug that has become more prevalent since the release of the crash-focused patch.

The latest minor patch is still a long way from solving the game-breaking flaw of the phenomenal coop RPG title. According to People Can Fly and Square Enix, a lot of work still need to be done to stabilize the game. Square Enix said it would monitor the situation over the weekend to make sure that the patch actually works. After that, it would try to fix the inventory restoration process.

The developers also noted that "Outriders" players may experience connectivity issues in the multiplayer, as well as inventory items being visible for a moment during the installation of the update. This is due to the three-step inventory safeguarding measures, according to developers. "Restarting your game or waiting a few minutes and then restarting your game should make your items appear again," they suggested.

"Outriders" developers also said that if players continue to experience having their inventory wiped even after installing the patch, they should report the problem to the Edge Case sub-thread of the game.

As for its future plans for the game, Square Enix mentioned that it would reveal the timeline for the Inventory Restoration process as soon as the latest patch is proven to be effective. It turns out that the inventory restoration would not require any patch and would be done through the game's server database.

Although "Outriders" has a rocky launch with teething problems surfacing every now and then, Square Enix and People Can Fly are transparent. They also keep an open line of communication with the gamers and are quick to come up with patches and fixes for issues that arise.
