Ryan Tannenhill was drafted by the Miami Dolphins to play quarterback, after graduating from Teax A&M where he was considered to be one of the top quarterbacks of his class. The Dolphins grabbed him with their eight overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft. He grew up a Texas tech fan and was born in Big Spring Texas, where he played football for the local highschool.
