  • LaVar Ball has plenty to say against the Detroit Pistons after his son got waived
  • LaVar Ball believes his son will eventually join the right NBA team
  • The Pistons are already loaded with players after a busy offseason

Most know how vocal LaVar Ball is, especially if it involves any of his sons.

When he found out about the Detroit Pistons' decision to waive LiAngelo Ball, most were awaiting his response and proverbial jabs. On cue, the 53-year-old took a swipe at the Motor City squad.

“I definitely have thoughts on that. The people in Detroit are great. I love the fans, but the franchise over there is raggedy as hell. They (Pistons) don’t know a good player," LaVar said when asked to comment on the move by SB Nation.

"I was giving them a lottery pick for free! Has the skills to play and the notoriety to bring everybody to the game. How do you throw that out the window? They’re gonna learn the hard way,” he added.

In a way, the elder Ball may have a point. The Pistons are trying to pick up the pieces and come up with a better showing this 2020-21 season.

However, the fact remains that Detroit gave LiAngelo a non-guaranteed contract in the first place.

Failing to see action in any of the preseason games, there may have been things that the Pistons coaching staff did not like during camp that led to the cut of LiAngelo.

It would also be fair to note that the 22-year-old was not the only one who got the pink slip. As mentioned in a previous post, Anthony Lamb and Louis King were also waived.

There is still a slim chance that LiAngelo could get reinserted to the roster of any NBA team. But with only about a week away from the opening of the new season, the middle son of LaVar will have to be patient and explore other options in the meantime.

As for LaVar, he vows that all three of his sons will end up playing in the NBA at some point.

“My boys are gonna end up together playing somewhere. ‘Gelo can shoot the lights out. That was raggedy what they did. But hey, they’re gonna learn the hard way,” he declared.
