As the plethora of lawsuits against President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate will likely reach the Supreme Court, his administration remains optimistic that it will be upheld.

The executive order makes it mandatory for workers at businesses with 100 or more employees to get vaccinated by Jan. 4 or get tested frequently. Biden believes that it will help bring an end to the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S.

Republican officials have filed lawsuits against the mandate in nearly 30 states, declaring that it is unconstitutional. Federal appeals courts also described the mandate as “fatally flawed,” stating that its conditions surpass authorities given to the federal government.

The White House maintains its opinion that the courts will endorse the mandate.

“I'm quite confident that when this finally gets fully adjudicated, not just a temporary order, the validity of this requirement will be upheld," White House chief of staff Ron Klain said, calling the mandate a “common sense” move to help end the pandemic nationally.
