Lea Michele Gets Over Matthew Paetz Breakup With Girls Night Out
A breakup isn’t going to keep Lea Michele in the house. The “Scream Queens” star recently split up with her boyfriend of almost two years, model Matthew Paetz, but she turned to her gal pals for support.
“Lea is surrounded by her friends, who have rallied around her and support her,” a source told People. “She's doing fine, focusing on her work, her music and her album.” The website also reports that her representative confirmed the breakup.
Michele posted several photos with her friends over the weekend, before the news broke. On Saturday, actress hit up Cote in Los Angeles to get her nails done, but she wasn’t alone. She posted a picture with former “Glee” co-star Becca Tobin. The women were sipping on drinks as they got their pedicures.
That night, Michele and Tobin hung out with “Scream Queens” actress Emma Roberts, and Michele took to Twitter to write about how much she adores her friends. Just Jared reports they were at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, and Michele is all smiles in paparazzi photos.
The 29-year-old also posted a photo of her yoga session on Sunday. It seems the starlet isn’t using the sweatpants and ice cream method to get over Paetz.
The two got together in April 2014 after meeting on the set of Michele’s “On My Way” music video, and were reportedly living together. Paetz was Michele’s first boyfriend after her ex Cory Monteith’s sudden death from a heroin overdose in 2013. Michele recently revealed that she believes Monteith would’ve approved of Paetz on Tobin’s “Fempire” podcast.
“He also is very respectful for the person that I was with, and that, again, is something I love so much about him,” Michelle said last month. “And I really know that Cory would love him too.”
A reason for the break up has not been given, but it was apparently very abrupt. “This has been very sudden and hard, but if anyone can pick herself up it's Lea,” a source revealed to E! Online. “She has a great network of friends.”
