“Rachel Berry” was considered a style icon back when the show was still on. Michele was tagged as part of the Best Dressed List of 2010 and even named the 2010 Most Stylish Star by E! Online.
The other stars of the TV musical series were Chris Colfer, Jane Lynch, the late Cory Monteith, Amber Riley and Mark Salling. The cast changed from time to time but Michele was one of the mainstays until the end. As one of the faces of “Glee,” the 33-year-old actress was allegedly paid more than her co-stars. Michele allegedly received $80,000 per episode, which could total to $1,600,000 per season. Chris Colfer and Amber Riley received $45,000 each.
It is safe to say that “Glee” launched Michele to stardom and provided her opportunities after the show ended. The American singer represented power brands such as Gap, Nike, Chevrolet, L'Oreal, Zola, HP, Dove, Hello Fresh and Candie's, among others. She also released three albums: “Louder,” “Places” and “Christmas in the City.
Michele got married to Zandy Reich in 2019. She was previously in a relationship with Monteith from 2008 to 2013. Monteith tragically passed away in 2013 due to combined drug intoxication.
But Michele recently made headlines due to allegations of harassment and racial remarks from her co-stars. Samantha Marie Ware aired her sentiments on Twitter and soon, other co-actors followed suit. Heather Morris also called Michele out and other peers such as Alex Newell, Amber Riley and Melissa Benoist have shown support.
Because of the recent revelations, HelloFresh has distanced itself from the actress. It released a statement saying that it is ending its partnership with Michele effective immediately.
Racial remarks and unjust payment issues come to light amid the Black Lives Matter protests happening in the U.S. Protesters are asking for racism to end and black people be given equal opportunities.
