'League of Legends': LoL Oceanic Server Beta Now Live, Comes With Caveats
"League of Legends," the popular MOBA title developed by Riot Games, has launched a beta for the Oceanic server. The announcement was made in a forum post by a Riot Games employee. Check out the forum post here.
The "League of Legends" Oceanic server will have support for English, local servers and its own website. Anyone from the NA, LATAM, Russia, Turkey, EUNE and EUW servers can transfer over right now. Transferring to Oceanic from another server comes with some bonuses too.
You can transfer over to Oceanic for free by opening the in-game store and clicking on the "Other" tab, but it's only free for a limited time. Those who transfer while the beta is still running will get Ziggs, the AP carry, for free, as well as 100 percent IP and XP boosts until the beta is over. Ziggs will also come included with one of his extra skins: Pool Party Ziggs.
There are some caveats though. "League of Legends" players who transfer to Oceanic won't be able to buy RP, the in-game currency that can be acquired with real-world money, while the beta is still in effect. Prices for RP have not been finalized either. It's also unclear how your ranked stats (tier and division) will translate when you make the switch to Oceanic. Riot states that your transferred tier and rank will be "relative" to how other players who make the switch stack up against one another. Ranked play will not be available during the beta nor will Dominion or ARAM.
What do you think of the newest "League of Legends" server? Will you be switching to Oceanic? Why or why not? What do you think of the bonuses offered to those that make the switch? Sound off in the comments below.
