Riot Games’ "League of Legends" has revealed the skill set of its new champion. Qiyana, Empress of the Elements, can switch up to three different ability sets during battle and has an ultimate that interacts with the map as well. Compared to other champions, Qiyana has potentially the most abilities for one character.

Qiyana’s abilities can be seen on the official North American “League of Legends” site. Her passive would be Royal Privelege, which provides extra damage to an enemy when hit with an ability. This bonus damage passive resets every time she uses a different element which encourages cycling her elements while fighting.

Her Q ability, Edge of Ixtal, simply throws her circle blade out in a small area in front of her. However, the move can be enhanced to deal more damage if an element is currently active on her weapon. The ability also changes its effect if near a wall, standing on the river or hiding in tall grass.

Moreover, her W ability, Terrashape, allows her to enchant her weapon while slightly moving forward for a little bit. Qiyana needs to target the ability on the floor, inside a brush, or on river water to get a different element. Targeting the floor provides fire, wind if aimed at tall grass, and ice if used to water. While the targeting system does not extend the jump, it does control the jump direction and the element taken.

Her E ability is Audacity which makes her dash through a chosen target. While this move doesn’t necessarily interact with her element play, it does make Qiyana a hard target to catch and escape.

Lastly, her ultimate is Supreme Display of Talent, which is a simple shockwave at first. However, the ability gains a stun if it travels on the river, through brushes, and creeps through a wide area of walls if it hits those areas.

Potentially, Qiyana could join the ranks of the “hypercarry” champions like Yasuo, Riven, and Lee Sin due to her moveset that shines best with experienced players. Not only will enemy teams respect her ability to teamfight but also be wary of their position to not give her the most advantage in battle.

Once added, Qiyana is the 145th champion to be playable in “League of Legends.” Her release date has yet to be revealed, but she could be unveiled soon in Riot’s test servers in a few more patches.

The current test server patch contains the Mordekaiser rework, Ryze changes, and reverted ability reworks for Malphite and Wukong. We’ll have to wait for more updates before Qiyana shows up on the Summoner’s Rift.
