LeBron James Is 'Better Than Aliens Too,' Former Laker Says

NBA Champion and former Los Angeles Lakers star Metta World Peace made a bizarre claim about LeBron James amid the greatest player of all time debate.

World Peace, who won his first NBA title with the Lakers in 2010, tweeted on Friday that James is the greatest player of all time, exceeding Michael Jordan and his late former teammate Kobe Bryant.

According to the former NBA star, apart from outclassing the all-time greats, James’ greatness is literally out-of-this-world as he is also better than “aliens.”

“@KingJames is the goat,” World Peace tweeted. “Never thought I would say that over my brother 24 and my favorite mj. I was an Allstar in mj Jersey 23. I changed my number for one season to honor a legend. But the King is the greatest athlete to ever touch this galaxy. Better than the aliens too.”

The 40-year-old eventually decided to delete the tweet, but screenshots were already posted online. World Peace’s claim came two days before James copped his 4th NBA title and handed the Lakers their 17th championship.

It has long been debated whether James has actually surpassed Jordan and Bryant in terms of greatness. Some believe that James’ era is “soft” and he has never competed against a tough player compared to the NBA stars of the past. However, World Peace has always been firm with his views on the subject and attests that James has been competing against tough players for years.

“LeBron is not playing in the softest era,” the 2004 NBA Defensive Player of the year tweeted. “I was in his era. And we all know I could have played in the ‘80s era. I know players that played in the era coming out the ‘90s that didn’t want any real smoke. All you commentators and experts, never call my era soft.”

Jay Williams, another former NBA star, has also weighed in on the greatest player of all time debate. Speaking on ESPN’s “Get Up,” the former Bulls guard said that James is indeed on the same footing as Jordan and despite experiencing defeats, the former is still the “GOAT.”

“I think he [James] is the greatest player of all time, and I also think my conversation is evolving in this,” Williams said. “Michael Jordan and LeBron James are right there. How come nobody talks about all the years Michael Jordan didn’t make it to the finals but looking at everything, I appreciated them both. ”
