LeBron James And Savannah Brinson Wedding Details: What To Expect And Who Will Attend
NBA star LeBron James and longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson are expected to have a lavish but small wedding this weekend in San Diego. The couple, who have been together since high school, are making it a three-day event.
The New York Post’s Page Six reports there will be a welcome barbeque for guests on Friday, the wedding ceremony and party on Saturday, and a farewell brunch on Sunday. Guests will include James’ NBA Miami Heat teammate Dwyane Wade and his girlfriend Gabrielle Union, Heat president Pat Riley, and New York Knicks player Carmelo Anthony. While most celebrities have hundreds of guests at their weddings, James is reportedly planning to have a smaller ceremony. “He cut the list down because he didn’t want to have 1000 people at the wedding,” a source told the Post.
Just last week, James and Brinson’s families and close friends relaxed in the South of France for a couple of days. In early July, Brinson celebrated her last months as a single woman with friends at a bachelorette party in Las Vegas. Pal Jada Paul posted fun event photographs on Instagram, showing James’ longtime girlfriend enjoying the Vegas festivities while also making sure to commemorate the July 4th holiday, posing with a gentleman dressed in a red, white and blue suit.
Aside from a complimentary cake from the prestigious restaurant Nobu, Brinson appeared to keep her bachelorette party low-key, dressed in a simple T-shirt and leggings during some of it. She also was photographed at a Las Vegas nightclub smiling and holding a glass of Ace of Spades champagne.
But Brinson might not have had a wedding to look forward to if the Miami Heat had lost the NBA playoff finals in June -- because James would have been in such a bad mood. But at a postgame press conference, the Finals' most valuable player said, “I got a wedding coming up with my beautiful fiancee. It will be an unbelievable wedding now that we’ve won instead of losing. I might have called it off if we had lost,” James admitted. “So now it’s going to be one of the best weddings ever.”
The couple has two sons together, LeBron Jr., 11, and Bryce, 6. The 28-year-old NBA star proposed to Brinson at a New Year’s Eve party last year.
