  • LeBron James showed off his soccer skills Wednesday
  • The moment happened during Lakers' match against Suns
  • James led Lakers to a 117-107 win over Suns

One of the best passers in the history of the National Basketball Association (NBA), LeBron James does not have to prove his skills anymore. Instead, he has been looking for ways to continue having fun in a season, which is going to stretch to as long as 82 games.

During Los Angeles Lakers’ Wednesday fixture against Phoenix Suns, James showed off his soccer skills by nailing a neat header to the referee, who was not prepared to collect the stunning pass from the Lakers superstar.

Since the hosts were miles ahead of the Suns at 43-17 and when James missed a shot, he headed the ball to the referee, a move that is not illegal according to the rules of the sport. While you cannot kick the ball or hit it with a fist, no rulebook suggests that you also cannot head the ball.

James clinched a 31-point triple-double as he led Lakers’ to a superb 117-107 win over the Suns. While it was Lakers’ third straight win, it was James’ eighth triple-double, who finished with 31 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists. He was once again supported by Anthony Davis, who had 26 points and 11 rebounds. The duo ensured the Western Conference leaders kick-started the year with a victory.

Earlier, Lakers’ small forward paid tribute to David Stern after the NBA announced the former commissioner had died at the age of 77.

“I will never EVER forget when you called my name on stage and I shook your hand. My dream came true!!! Thank you for your commitment to the beautiful game of basketball that has changed so many young adult/kids lives and more importantly your vision to make our game become WORLDWIDE was a vision only you could make happen! You did just that. Making our game the greatest sport in the world! It was an honor to know you personally. Rest In Paradise David Stern! My prayers go to your family and friends throughout this difficult time!” James wrote on his Instagram.

Lakers, who continue to near their ultimate goal of winning the championship, currently have a record of 27-7 having done well both at home and away. They are scheduled to next host New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday.
