Lee Min Ho Sparks Excitement, Underwent Rigorous Preparations For 'More Mature' Role

Devoted followers of Lee Min Ho will be witnessing his much-awaited television comeback very soon. The phenomenal South Korean actor was confirmed to star as the male lead in the upcoming series called “The King: The Eternal Monarch" just a few weeks after he finished his two-year mandatory military service. The 32-year-old actor-model has, reportedly, undergone rigorous preparations for his “more mature” role.
Recently, Lee Min Ho marvelously advertised his upcoming project on social media and fans could not help but admire the good-looking star even more. The “Boys over Flowers” actor shared some cute snaps, on Sunday, Feb. 16, which featured the title of his imminent series. The Instagram post, effortlessly, gathered a million likes just a few hours after it was shared.
“Can't waiiiiitttttt,” one fan wrote in the comment section. “Oppa ah~ love u,” another Instagram user stated. “Been waiting this Oppa,” Mae Park shared. “Mine oppaa , love u lee min ho,” another follower added. “Oppa @actorleeminho saranghaeyo i love you so muccch. I hope you can go to Indonesia again, but...,, please waiting me, because no I'm no have money l but 5years again. Love you oppaaa,” a fifth netizen said.
In Oct. 2019, Soompi reported that the production for “The King: The Eternal Monarch” has kicked off in North Chungcheong Province already. The new series, which also will also star Kim Go Eun, will center on the story of two parallel universes. Lee Min Ho will portray the role of Emperor Lee Gon, who will try to close the door between the two worlds. Go Eun, for her part, will play as detective Jung Tae Eul, who serves the emperor to save the lives of the people and her loved ones.
Other cast members include Woo Do Hwan as Jo Eun Seob and Jo Young, Kim Kyung Nam as Kang Shin Jae and Jung Eun Chae as Goo Seo Ryung. “The King: The Eternal Monarch” is written by Kim Eun Sook, who is the brain behind other successful South Korean drama series such as “Goblin” and “Mr. Sunshine.” She also wrote the “Descendants of the Sun,” which starred former couple Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo. It will be produced by Hwa&Dam Pictures and directed by Baek Sang Hoon, who co-directed the “Moon Drawn by Clouds” and “Descendants of the Sun.”
