'The Legend Of Korra' Book 4 Spoilers: Stage Set For Kuvira And Korra Showdown In Episode 4; What Happened In 'The Calling'? [RECAP]
Another episode of “The Legend of Korra” premiered on Nick.com on Friday, Oct. 24. Episode 3 of “The Legend of Korra” Book 4 saw Korra (Janet Varney) trying to get her Avatar mojo back with the (reluctant) help of Toph (Philece Stampler), who returned for Season 4 of the show after becoming a fan-favorite character in the Avatar universe during “Avatar: The Last Airbender.” Episode 4, “The Calling,” would show if Korra had what it takes to return to her old self.
Check out three reveals from episode 4, “The Calling”:
1. Ikki
The episode began with Tenzen (J.K. Simmons) sending Jinora (Kiernan Shipka), Ikki (Darcy Rose Byrnes) and Meelo (Logan Wells) out on a mission to find Korra. While all three have their moments, the episode belonged to Ikki, who has never really carried an episode before this one. After becoming frustrated with Jinora’s constant (and futile) meditating and Meelo’s antics, she wandered off and was captured by two of Kuvira’s soldiers. Ikki had to be rescued by Jinora and Meelo, but not before Ikki realized from the soldiers’ maps that Korra was likely hiding in the swamp.
2. Kuvira and Zaofu
While holding Ikki captive, the soldiers complained about not being chosen to accompany Kuvira (Zelda Williams) to Zaofu. It seems like Kuvira is headed for her hometown for an attempted takeover, which will bring her head-to-head with Zaofu’s leader, Suyin (Anne Heche), Toph’s daughter. Will Korra be able to help defend Zaofu?
3. Back in Business
Ikki, Jinora and Meelo found Korra with Toph at the Banyan-Grove tree at the end of the episode. Toph had been helping a frustrated Korra realize that she would have to conquer the fear of her old enemies and move on to be able to reclaim her former power. With the arrival of Jinora, Ikki and Meelo, she had the inspiration she needed. At the end of the episode Korra is able to bend the remaining Red Lotus poison out of her body and take her Avatar form. Korra left soon after to help stop Kuvira, leaving Toph behind who ended the episode saying, “Finally, some peace and quiet.”
