  • Mike Tyson is revving up for more exhibition fights with Legends Only League
  • An Evander Holyfield trilogy is in the cards, but nothing has been made official
  • Tyson vows to improve his performance in his next fights

Mike Tyson had an impressive outing when he faced Roy Jones Jr. in the Legends Only League main event on Nov. 29. Although it was only an exhibition fight that saw “Iron Mike” back in the ring for the first time since 2005, it was a big hit despite being limited to online streams due to the ongoing pandemic.

The Tyson vs. Jones fight ended in a draw, but most felt that the “Baddrest Man on the Planet” should have won it. Either way, the 54-year-old appears content with the outcome and is just happy to be back. Rather than look back, the former heavyweight boxing champion is moving forward and eager to do more fights.

A rematch with Jones is something most had initially asked for, but it seems an even bigger fight with Evander Holyfield, said to be the one Tyson should have faced, looms. If discussions finally go well, it should be an even bigger draw once set.

“Yeah, absolutely. It’ll be better this time," Tyson told Patrick Mouratoglou in a report from Boxingscene. “It was interesting. I felt really good, I felt confident. I felt that I could do it again.”

A third fight with Holyfield would be epic even if both boxers are over their 50. But looking beyond that, it appears the future of the Legends Only League is bright. Tyson admitted that he had received a lot of inquiries from some unnamed fighters who want to sign up.

“We started Legends Only League and it’s really interesting. Once I announced that I was going to do my exhibition, everybody, all these other athletes all wanted to get involved in some way. Our first show was a record breaker. Now everybody’s interested in being involved with our whole organization,” Tyson said.

A Tyson vs. Holyfield III should be something worth looking out for. A fight date has yet to be set, but there is plenty to expect. Also, it is not limited to Tyson alone.

Although the fight has been branded as bad for the sport, YouTubers have also invaded the scene to add some color. Jake Paul had that vicious knockout win over former NBA player Nate Robinson. The 23-year-old held the advantage, but most feel a boxer who had some experience would have been better.

And of course, most know that Jake’s brother, Logan Paul, will face Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Feb. 20. Most are not giving Logan much of a chance – including his brother Jake. Regardless, it is a rare opportunity for the 25-year-old YouTuber even if he could be in for a beating at the hands of the "Flamboyant One."
