‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Season 2 Star Victor Garber Talks Working With Co-Firestorm Actor Franz Drameh
“Legends of Tomorrow” star Victor Garber is having fun working with his co-star Franz Drameh.
During a recent interview with Digital Spy, Garber gushed over Drameh, with whom he shared the role of Firestorm in the “Arrow” — “The Flash” offshoot.
“He’s just so delightful,” Garber said of his 23-year-old British co-star. “He’s one of those talented people I’ve worked with and [he’s an] original. He’s just like no one else I’ve ever met, and he makes me laugh all the time.”
When asked if there’s a lot of off-screen banter between them, the 67-year-old Canadian actor said: “Oh endless … He talks British and talks perfect American accent. And you [just] think, ‘Who are you!?’”
Drameh is equally enjoying his time working with Garber. “I love working with Victor. It's so fun," he said (via Den of Geek) last April. “We literally spend all day just taking the piss out of each other, insulting each other.”
He continued, "I make him take really weird pictures of me, weird selfies. He's like, 'Franz, I don't understand. What am I doing?' I'm like, ‘Just do it. It's going to be fun.’”
Drameh also revealed that he often uses a lot of London slang, which Garner doesn't understand.
“He's just like, ‘Can you please speak English? I don't know what you mean,’” he shared. “It's great. We get on like a house on fire. As our characters, we start off really going at each other. We're at loggerheads a lot and we kind of learn to work together. We build this great relationship which we kind of have this father/son kind of bond towards the end. It's really nice.”
In a recent interview with Collider, executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed where Garber and Drameh’s characters are at when Season 2 opens six months after the events in the Season 1 finale.
“Jax (Drameh) has come into his own, as the engineer and chief mechanic of the Waverider. He’s carved out a place for himself on the team that’s separate and apart from his relationship with Stein (Garber), said Guggenheim, before adding that “Stein has become the theoretician of the team.”
“Legends of Tomorrow” Season 2 premieres on Thursday, Oct. 13, at 8 p.m. on The CW.
