‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Season 3, Episode 1 Title Revealed; Set Photos Shared Online
The title for the Season 3 premiere of “Legends of Tomorrow” has been revealed.
Executive producer Marc Guggenheim announced on Twitter that Season 3, episode 1 of the CW series is titled “Aruba-Con.” Guggenheim’s tweet also revealed that the episode is going to be directed by Rob Seidenglanz from a script written by Guggenheim and his fellow executive producer Phil Klemmer.
According to YVRShoots, some scenes from the episode will be filmed in Vancouver’s Jericho Beach. Below are a couple of photos taken from the outdoor set.
As the title suggests, part of the episode will take place in Aruba. According to the Season 3 synopsis released last May, Mick Rory/Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) is having a well-deserved vacation in Aruba when she bumps into his fellow Legend, Sara Lance/White Canary (Caity Lotz). The reunion between the two seemingly takes place days after the Legends decide to go their separate ways after Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) and his newly established group of time police, the Time Bureau, question their methods of protecting the timeline.
Seeing the chance meeting with Mick as an opportunity to resume their time-traveling heroics, Sara quickly gets the Legends back together. Once reunited, the Legends challenge the Time Bureau’s authority over the timeline and insist that however disordered their methods may be, some problems are beyond the Time Bureau’s capabilities and can only be fixed by Legends.
Although Season 3 will see the Legends clash with Rip once again, Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly last month that the Legends’ original captain is not evil in the upcoming installment.
“In Season 2, he was turned evil,” Guggenheim said of Darvill’s character. “[But in Season 3], this is not Evil Rip. We’re not making Rip a bad guy or that kind of villain, rather this is Rip as… the Ronny Cox in ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ to our Eddie Murphy. He’s the guy who’s trying to do things the proper way, follow the rules, get things done with a certain level of efficiency, and here come our ‘Legends of Tomorrow,’ who go about things a bit more unorthodox.”
More details about Season 3 are expected to be revealed at the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel on Saturday, July 22. Lotz, Purcell, Routh (Ray Palmer/The Atom), Victor Garber (Martin Stein/one-half of Firestorm), Franz Drameh (Jax Jackson/one-half of Firestorm), Nick Zano (Nate Heywood/Steel) and Maisie Richardson-Sellers (Amaya Jiwe/Vixen) will all be present during the panel.
“Legends of Tomorrow” Season 3 will premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
