‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Season 3 Spoilers: ‘Mistresses’ Alum Jes Macallan Joins Cast
“Mistresses” alum Jes Macallan has landed a recurring role in Season 3 of “Legends of Tomorrow.”
According to Deadline, Macallan will play the role of Ava Sharpe, a special agent for a secret branch of the Federal Government (the Time Bureau) dedicated to the regulation of time-travel and the protection of history. Described as “very smart,” “incredibly ambitious” and “often ruthless,” Ava is apparently notorious for ending her friendships and romantic relationships the moment a change suits her.
Fans got a glimpse of Ava in the show’s Season 3 trailer released at the San Diego Comic-Con last month. In the promo clip, Ava seemingly belittles the Legends’ capacity to fix the time stream after they literally broke time itself at the end of the Season 2 finale. “You and your sorry excuse for a team could never handle it,” Ava tells Sara (Caity Lotz) in the video.

As revealed in the Season 3 synopsis released last May, the Time Bureau — created by Legends’ former captain, Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) — is a new group of time police who doesn’t tolerate the Legends’ methods of protecting the timeline. Although the Time Bureau effectively becomes the new sheriffs in town, the Legends eventually challenge the Time Bureau’s authority over the timeline and insist that however disordered their methods may be, some problems are beyond the Time Bureau’s capabilities and can only be fixed by Legends.
Shortly after news of her casting was announced, Macallan took to Instagram to share that she’s currently “having an absolute blast” filming the upcoming season.
Macallan, who recurred on Fox’s “Red Band Society” and FX’s “Justified,” is the latest addition to the growing list of newcomers for Season 3 of “Legends of Tomorrow.” The actress joins previously announced newcomers Tala Ashe (“American Odyssey”) as Muslim hacktivist Zari Adrianna Tomaz, Billy Zane (“Titanic”) as iconic showman P.T. Barnum, and Tracy Ifeachor (“The Originals”) as Amaya’s (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) granddaughter, Kuasa.
Additionally, Neal McDonough and Wentworth Miller will reprise their roles as Damien Darhk and Leonard Snart, respectively, in Season 3. McDonough will come back as series regular while Miller will return as a recurring guest star.
“Legends of Tomorrow” Season 3 premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
