‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Spoilers: Who Will Replace Firestorm On The Waverider?
The Legends will soon welcome a new member!
In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, “Legends of Tomorrow” executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed that a “returning” and “previously established character from the Arrowverse” will be stepping in to take Firestorm’s place on the Waverider.
“We do have a plan for how to replace Firestorm on the bridge,” Guggenheim told the website. “It’s a really cool one. It’s one we’re really excited about.”
Although it seems that the plan has already been finalized, Guggenheim said that he’s not allowed to disclose it yet. “We do have a game plan. We’ve always had a game plan,” the exec producer assured fans. “I just can’t talk about the game plan. The CW publicity will determine when we get to unleash that bit of news.”
This week’s midseason finale of “Legends of Tomorrow” confirmed the exits of Victor Garber and Franz Drameh who both played the characters that form Firestorm. Garber’s Stein was killed by Earth-X Nazis in last month’s four-way crossover between “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl” and “Legends of Tomorrow.” Meanwhile, Drameh’s Jax decided to leave the team and return to 2017 Central City at the end of Season 3, episode 9 after realizing that he would never be able to move on from Stein’s death if he stayed on the ship.
While Drameh’s exit surprised a lot of fans, Garber’s departure from the show was confirmed by Deadline a month before the crossover. Rumblings about the actor’s exit first surfaced when the show was wrapping its sophomore run. While the CW and the show’s producing studio Warner Bros. TV remained quiet about the news, Garber’s departure was inadvertently made clear when it was revealed in September that Garber would return to Broadway to star in the Tony-winning revival of “Hello, Dolly!” Garber is set to replace David Hyde Pierce as Horace Vandergelder in the stage play, and his first show is scheduled on Jan. 20 next year.
