‘Legion’: Syd, Cary And Oliver Try To Rescue David And The Team In Episode 7

Oliver (Jemaine Clement) is going to help David (Dan Stevens) and the rest of Team Summerland get out of the illusory Clockworks in next week’s episode of “Legion.”

In the trailer for Season 1, episode 7, Cary (Bill Irwin) and Syd (Rachel Keller) — who both appeared to have been rescued by Oliver last episode — figure out that the Clockworks they found themselves in along with David, Melanie (Jeane Smart), Kerry (Amber Midthunder), Ptonomy (Jeremie Harris) Amy (Katie Aselton) and The Eye (Mackenzie Gray) is not real.

“The hospital wasn’t real,” says Cary in the preview clip.

“It was a mental projection created by the monster,” adds Syd, referring to the Devil with the Yellow Eyes living inside David’s mind.

Since Oliver’s wife, Melanie, is one of the people who are still trapped in this mental projection, he doesn’t think twice before offering his help. “We need to rescue them,” he tells Cary in the video.

In Season 1, episode 5, Melanie revealed to David that Oliver — who has spent the last 20 years in the astral place — was very much like him before. “In the beginning he was just like you, same kind of power, psychic,” Melanie said. “Then he found a place where he could rule, be the creator. Then he started spending more and more time there. Sometimes I’d just find him sitting someplace just staring into space. And then one day, he just didn’t wake up.”

David asked Melanie if she wanted him to take her to the astral plane to see her husband. Although it was pretty obvious that she misses him, Melanie said no and revealed that what she really wants is for David to bring Oliver back home.

If Oliver will end up playing a huge part in saving the rest of Team Summerland, it’s likely that viewers will see a big reunion between him and his wife Melanie in next week’s episode.
