People.com is reporting that Leonardo DiCaprio and his girlfriend Bar Refaeli have officially ended their relationship.

DiCaprio and the Israeli supermodel have been together for five years. They took a six-month hiatus during that time, though. They have officially called it quits.

The couple began dating in the spring of 2006. In 2009 they split up for a while but eventually got back together. The news was first reported by the New York Post.

Refaeli had said that she was grateful for that six-month break because it allowed her to grow up.

It was amicable, they're still friends and they are still talking, a source close to the couple was quoted in the New York Post. Neither were ready to settle down, and both have busy careers that have been taking them in different directions.

DiCaprio, whose movie career is blossoming, recently finished shooting J. Edgar, in which he plays former FBI director J. Edgar Hoover. The film is directed by Clint Eastwood.
