Leonardo DiCaprio, Kanye West's Former Bodyguard On Rapper: One Of 'Least Favorite' Clients
KEY POINTS
- Former bodyguard says Kanye West is his least favorite celebrity client
- West reportedly has ridiculous rules for his bodyguards
- Taylor Swift was vindicated from Kanye West and Kim Kardashian feud
Kanye West’s former bodyguard, who also worked with Leonardo DiCaprio in the past, has opened up about his celebrity clients and said that the rapper was one of his “least favorite” people to work with.
Steve Stanulis has served as bodyguard to several high-profile Hollywood celebrities including “The Revenant” star DiCaprio, “Bad Teacher” actress Cameron Diaz, “Ironic” singer Alanis Morisette, “Spider-Man” star Tobey Maguire and more. He was once a bodyguard to the “Stronger” rapper, too. However, among all of his celebrity clients, his least favorite is West.
In a recent episode of “Hollywood Raw” podcast, Stanulis shared his first encounter with West and the Yeezy designer’s ridiculous rules.
“I was supposed to meet him at the studio. When he gets there, we get into the elevator and he’s like, ‘Aren’t you going to push what floor we’re going to?'” the retired cop said.
“I said, ‘I have no idea, it’s my first day.’ So he starts ranting: ‘So you mean you didn’t call ahead to find out where I’m supposed to be going?’ I said no, so he’s ranting and raving,” Stanulis recalled.
Stanulis ignored the celebrity’s drama and went on and offered West three options, so they could get things going.
“One, you could tell me what button to press, and now I’ll know. Two, you could press the button, and I’ll see which one you press and then I’ll know,” he continued. “Or three, you can sit in here all day and tell me how important your time is and we are not going to go anywhere. And again, that was our first interaction.”
Stanulis is used to working with celebrities and West is one of those he had tense conversations while he does his job. According to him, it happened several times, so the “Jesus Walks” rapper is his “least favorite.”
He also finds it ridiculous that West wanted him to stay 10 paces behind, which was too far.
“So obviously, if someone is going to come up and do something, by the time I run up and try to prevent it, it would have already happened,” Stanulis said.
West is known for being eccentric and causing controversy. Just recently, he claimed that slavery was a choice.
His feud with Taylor Swift has also resurfaced after their unedited phone conversation leaked. The video supported the “Reputation” singer’s claim that she didn’t give him the permission to call her “b——” on his song “Famous.” West and his wife Kim Kardashian insisted that they informed Swift about the song ahead. Apparently, the lyrics West mentioned during the call was different when he released the song.
Following the incident, Swift was vindicated. Her fans used the hashtag “#TaylorToldTheTruth.” Meanwhile, they called to cancel West and Kardashian.
