Leonardo DiCaprio-Lady Gaga Update: ‘Revenant’ Star Apologizes To ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ Actress, Report Says
Leonardo DiCaprio issued a mea culpa to Lady Gaga after he reportedly shaded her at the 2016 Golden Globes Sunday, Radar Online wrote in an exclusive report Tuesday. He was the talk of the night — and it wasn’t because he took home an award for best actor. DiCaprio laughed as the “American Horror Story: Hotel” star sashayed through the crowd to accept her award and his reaction soon went viral. Many people were convinced he was dissing the singer for her win.
Gaga’s fiancé, “Chicago Fire” star Taylor Kinney, reportedly asked DiCaprio to apologize to the “Born This Way” singer. He obliged. “Leonardo made good on this later that night, when he apologized to her and Taylor at the CAA after-after party at the Sunset Tower Hotel,” an insider told Radar Online Tuesday.
The apparent insult was soon forgotten. “Leonardo said that this was the last time he would drink before the award show,” the source said. “They all partied there all night long and laughed it off.”
Gaga, 29, reportedly bumped into DiCaprio, 41, because he laughed so loud during her walk to the stage that everyone in the room could hear him. Now, however, she’s moved past everything. “That little incident got so much pickup that it only made her win that much bigger!” the source said.
Before he knew his jeer went viral, DiCaprio denied that he slammed Gaga on purpose. “I just didn’t know what was passing me,” he told Entertainment Tonight backstage Sunday.
Neither DiCaprio nor Gaga publicly addressed the incident. The singer, however, did thank her fiancé on social media after she left Kinney out of her acceptance speech. “Thank you Taylor for being right there for me the whole way through,” she said.
While she was on the stage, the New York-native gave a shout out to “AHS” creator Ryan Murphy and the cast: "You're my family forever. ... Because of you, I was able to shine, I guess.”
The final episode of “AHS: Hotel” will air Wednesday at 10 p.m. EST on FX.
