‘Lethal Weapon’ Season 2, Episode 8 Will Reveal Scorsese’s Real Name
Next week’s episode of “Lethal Weapon” will resolve one of the show’s long-standing mysteries.
According to the synopsis for Season 2, episode 8 of the Fox series, Scorsese’s (Johnathan Fernandez) real name will finally be revealed in the hour.
In an interview with Variety Latino last year, Fernandez said that he knows from the start that Scorsese is not his character’s real name. “I know that’s a nickname because he went to film school at one point and he wrote several scripts,” the actor said. “So because of that, Riggs (Clayne Crawford), Murtaugh (Damon Wayans), and the rest of the LAPD don’t let him live that down.”
“He’s the classic Hollywood tale,” Fernandez added of Scorsese. “Everybody you see in Los Angeles has a script and is ready to sell you their ideas at all times, and Scorsese is no different. He’s in the morgue but if he saw a Hollywood-type walk in there — he could be in the middle of an autopsy — and he’d be like, ‘You should listen to this great pitch I have.’”
While it’s unclear how Scorsese’s real name will be revealed in the upcoming episode, Fernandez previously shared how he would like his character’s real name to be revealed to the audience. “My wish would be for it to be like Season 7 or the series finale,” the actor told Variety Latino. “And Scorsese got into this crazy gun battle and he’s about to die and he has a gun in his hand and that’s when you find out his real name.”
Interestingly, Scorsese’s background in writing will be revisited in next week’s episode. In the trailer for the installment, Scorsese reveals to Riggs and Murtaugh that both of them are in the script he’s currently writing. “By the book veteran paired up with the loose cannon with mental issues,” Scorsese says of what he’s script is all about. Funnily enough, Riggs seems to be clueless that he’s the “loose cannon” Scorsese is referring to. “In Roger’s defense, he doesn’t have mental issues,” Riggs comments.
Elsewhere in the upcoming episode, Riggs and Murtaugh are led into the underground mob world as they investigate a murder in a hospital. Also, Murtaugh learns that Riana (Chandler Kinney) is secretly dating his neighbor and nemesis’ (Andrew Patrick Ralston) son. Riggs, meanwhile, spends more time with his childhood friend, Molly (Kristen Gutoskie).
“Lethal Weapon” Season 2, episode 8, titled “Fork-Getta-Bout It,” airs on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
