Lexus Unveils New LC 500 Convertible In Los Angeles Auto Show
Lexus revealed their new LC 500 Convertible with the first production version of the new car unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show and will be on display throughout the run of the event.
This new model will go on sale sometime around the summer of 2020 and will be marketed as a 2021 model. Alongside the reveal, the car company also revealed the official specifications for this new model.
First off, with information coming from their official site, the new LC 500 Convertible boasts a V8 engine, giving it a smooth and pleasant acceleration experience. It also comes equipped with neck heaters and a transparent wind deflector, giving extra comfort along with that smooth driving experience.
When it comes to the convertible mechanism of the car, Lexus has this to say:
“To ensure that the convertible version of the LC 500 retains a beautiful silhouette when the top is lowered, the automatic folding mechanism stores the top under an integrated tonneau cover. Because the designers incorporated a beltline that kicks up at the end of the doors, the vehicle’s profile is characterized by a body that wraps around the cabin, providing an overall tight and clean appearance.”
The design of the soft top of the roof was made as such in order to retain the flowing mechanism to it. The roof can be opened and closed even while the car is driving at speeds of up to 50 km/h. There is also an animation display on the gauge so the driver can easily monitor the closing or opening progress of the roof.
The car also has an Active Noise Control (ANC), which is combined with sound insulation and absorption techniques, that suppresses unwanted noises and unpleasant sound frequencies.
The roof of the LC 500 Convertible opens at an average speed of 15 seconds while it closes at around 16 seconds.
