LG Electronics on Wednesday introduces its first ever THX certified 240Hz LH90 Series of LED-backlit LCDs, which was introduced at the International CES last January.

It features full-array LED backlighting using local dimming technology to produce a 2,000,000:1 mega contrast ratio, TruMotion technology for smooth motion images, an Energy Star’s 3.0 certification and LG's Intelligent Sensor that adjust the backlight based on ambient light in the room.

LG's advanced LED Backlight technology precisely controls the brightness of specific areas of the screen, providing crisper, clearer pictures while using less energy than traditional LCD models, the company said.

The new Series of LH90 is now available on 55-inch model, a 47-inch and a 42-inch model at $3,199, $2,399 and $1,899 respectively.
