It can be noted that LG introduced its new XBOOM audio devices in its home country back in May. The expanded lineup comprises the PK7, PK6 and PK3 XBOOM Go speakers and the WK7 and WK9 XBOOM AI ThinQ devices.

The tech company is now introducing the new XBOOM devices to the world as part of its aggressive push into the global audio market in time for its 60th anniversary, as per Yonhap. The move is in collaboration with Meridian Audio, the company behind the industry’s first audiophile-quality CD player and the world’s first digital active loudspeaker.

In its press release, LG proudly shared that with Meridian’s advanced technology, its XBOOM Go speakers are capable of delivering clear treble and enhanced bass as well as highly accurate sound. The XBOOM Go speakers are also the first wireless speakers to support Qualcomm’s aptX™ HD for astounding lossless 24bit/576kbps hi-res streaming audio.

On the other hand, the XBOOM AI ThinQ speakers feature Google Assistant so users can control them using their voice. Of course, these AI speakers also feature Meridian’s technology so they are able to deliver high-fidelity sound, accurate bass and precise vocal definition.

“By expanding our XBOOM brand to include wireless and smart speakers, LG is opening up new possibilities with XBOOM leading our entire home audio business,” LG Home Entertainment Company’s Seo Young-jae said. “With Meridian as our audio technology partner, we are confident XBOOM will succeed in Europe as it has in other regions around the world.”
