LG has unveiled two flagships so far in this year, the LG G Flex 2 that was released at the beginning of 2015 and the LG G4 that came out a few months ago. The South Korean giant is working on a new high-end smartphone that's expected to be released later this year.

According to Phone Arena, Cho Jun-ho, president of LG Electronics, revealed at a recent press meeting for quarterly results that a new “super premium phone” will be released in the second half of 2015. The handset will be aimed towards premium users.

However, Business Korea claims that the South Korean tech giant is hurrying the release of the mysterious premium smartphone. The handset is expected to be unveiled soon. Just as Samsung is releasing the Galaxy Note 5 early this year in August, instead of September, it seems that the LG, too, is accelerating the launch of its super phone, Android Authority claimed.

The rumor mill is silent on this unknown device as the company is making every effort to keep it under the wraps. Observers speculate that the handset may have a metallic body, and it will be a new addition to the G Pro series. The handset may roll out as LG G4 Pro or even as LG G5.

Android Authority reports that LG had proclaimed at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in March that a smartphone that is better than its G series will be rolling out in the second half of 2015. However, at that time, Cho refrained from revealing more information on the mysterious flagship.

As for LG G3 Pro specifications, the purported device is predicted to sport a metallic body. It could feature a massive 6-inch display with support for Quad HD resolution and the Snapdragon 820 processor that is capable of clocking a max speed of up to 3GHz. Other specs include 4GB of RAM and a 20MP camera.
