Lifetime’s V.C. Andrews ‘Dark Angel’ Movie Premiere: Casteel Series Cast, Trailer, Date
After Lifetime aired “Heaven,” the first flick in its movie series adaptation of V.C. Andrews’ Casteel Family novels last week, the network’s getting ready to premiere the second movie, “Dark Angel,” tonight.
Annalise Basso reprises her role as Heaven Leigh Casteel in the sequel, which picks up right after the events of the first movie. With five books in Andrews’ series, fans can expect a movie version of each one, with a new one airing every Saturday night.
The cast for the second movie and beyond in the miniseries includes Basso, Kelly Rutherford, Daphne Zuniga, Jennifer LaPorte and Jason Priestley.
After the events of last week’s installment, here’s what viewers can expect from “V.C. Andrews’ Dark Angel,” according to Lifetime:
"[The film] picks up directly after Heaven (Annalise Basso) finds a new life in her estranged grandmother and grandfather, Jillian (Kelly Rutherford) and Tony Tatterton’s (Jason Priestley) exquisite Boston mansion, Farthinggale Manor. But even in the world of the wealthy, there are strange forebodings, secrets best forgotten. As Heaven reaches out for love, she is slowly ensnared in a sinister web of cruel deceits.”
Find out more about the troubled lives of Heaven and the Casteel family when “V.C. Andrews’ Dark Angel” premieres on Lifetime on Saturday at 8 p.m. EDT, but just remember that once the movie ends, the story’s far from over.
There will still be three more movies in the series — “Fallen Hearts,” “Gates of Paradise” and “Web of Dreams” — left to air after this one ends. That means there’s a lot more drama, secrets, forbidden love and tragedy still to come as part of Lifetime’s Saturday Night Thrillers event.
