Lil Nas X revealed that he approached Nicki Minaj and Drake for his debut studio album, "Montero," which was dropped on Sept. 17. However, both rappers turned down the request.

"I don’t usually ask for features like that. But for every feature I did ask for on this album, like, every single one of them worked," the 22-year-old rapper told GQ on Monday. "Besides Drake and Nicki [Minaj]," he added.

However, the rapper noted that he didn't "ask them directly" but he did disclose the music tracks he wanted to do with Drake and Minaj. "I wanted Nicki on 'Industry Baby' and I wanted Drake on 'Dolla Sign Slime' with Megan [Thee Stallion]," Nas X told the outlet.

Although after the music album has been released, Nas X feels that it was great to have rapper Jack Harlow in "Industry Baby," considering he wasn't sure "how comfortable Nicki would have felt with that video or whatnot."

This is not the first time the rapper spoke about Drake and Minaj declining his collaboration request. In September, the rapper told The Breakfast Club that Drake was occupied with "Certified Lover Boy" when he requested.

"[Drake] was still working on 'Certified Lover Boy,' and he was 100 percent focused on that, and I understood completely," Nas X explained. "And he said he's down to do something, but just [it wasn't] the right time," the rapper said.

During the interview, Nas X also noted that he felt good about competing with Drake's album on the charts as his album, "Montero" dropped on Sept. 17 and Drake released his album on Sept. 3.

"It’s amazing that my competition was Drake. Drake, with this huge album and the most first-week sales of the year," he said. "Plus, Drake’s my idol. There are too many other wins to be upset," Nas X added.

On the personal front, the rapper revealed in a GQ interview that he stopped dating girls and now he is dating only boys.

Nas X also claimed that "every single gay person’s fallen in love with a straight person," noting that he keeps his distance with "DL boys" now. DL is slang used for men who call themselves heterosexual but secretly get involved with other men.
