Rumors about "White Wine" singer Lil Peep's death by drug overdose surfaced Wednesday. While Twitter is flooded with condolence messages, there has been no official confirmation of the 21-year-old's demise.

Some social media users said Peep overdosed on Xanax while on his tour bus. The singer celebrated his 21st birthday on Nov. 1.

Many of his fans were shocked to learn of his death after Lil Peep's name started trending on Twitter. Some fans also said that it was hard to believe that the famed singer was dead as there was no official statement released so far.

"Lil Peep overdosed on his tour bus before the concert and everyone thought he was sleeping in the back for hours... n---- died. These new wave rappers living life all wrong," one user wrote.

Just hours before rumors surfaced about his death, Lil Peep shared a photo of three girls on his Instagram account, captioning it: "Look at my beautiful fans awwwww."

Lil Peep, whose real name is Gustav Åhr, began his career by releasing his first mixtape, "Lil Peep Part One" to limited success, generating 4,000 plays in its first week. The same year he released his first extended play "Feelz" and another mixtape, "Live Forever." Later, his songs "White Wine," "Benz Truck" and "The Way I See Things" each gained over four million views on YouTube.

"I wasn't a fan of Lil Peep but its sad the way he left. Self-medication to relieve traumatic experiences is a big issue, no judgment tho ppl got demons and its hard to face them so you gotta suppress it," another user wrote, expressing concern about the use of drugs.

This is a developing story.
