Lili Reinhart Wants Fans To See Her Other Than Being 'Riverdale's' Betty Cooper

Lili Reinhart wants to show her fans that she is so much more than her "Riverdale" character Betty Cooper by taking a darker role in her upcoming movie "Chemical Hearts."

Reinhart will be playing a mysterious girl named Grace Town in her new film on Amazon. She wears baggy clothes to school and walks with a limp. Then her character grows closer to Austin Abram's Henry Page and she will teach him more about first love, heartbreak and loss more than he ever imagined in his life.

"People haven't really seen what I'm fully capable of," Reinhart told Entertainment Weekly about what she can do in front of the camera.

"Maybe they only see me as being on a commercial television show, and I hope that this shows people that my heart is really in film. I want people to see me as something other than Betty Cooper. It's hard to break out of that mold."

She added that she was thrilled to "act without limitation" in the movie because they were not pressed for time and they didn't have to crop out scenes to make it shorter. The whole arrangement removed the pressure and feeling of being rushed, which gave Reinhart the "opportunity to just feel and act."

Reinhart also served as an executive producer for the movie and admitted that it felt good to have a say on the set.

"It was a lot of work and it was cool to be an executive producer, to actually have a say in things. It's something that I wasn't used to, having that influence. But it was an incredibly collaborative experience," she added.

Just recently, Reinhart opened up about her depression with Refinery29. She admitted that there was a time when she felt like she was dying. Some linked her statement to her split from ex Cole Sprouse.

Reinhart denied it and said she would never talk about her breakup because it’s very personal. Following her tweets, Sprouse confirmed that they had separated since January and decided to split for good in March, which broke the hearts of their fans.
