Lindsay Lohan Books Modeling Gig
Lindsay Lohan will be the new face of Philipp Plein's Spring 2012 collection.
The embattled actress, who has seen her share of bad-publicity recently, mostly over alcohol-related charges, is headed to Milan, Italy to watch German fashion line Philipp Plein's fashion show.
“Lindsay is a beautiful, highly acclaimed actress and model. We will be able to create unique images: Refined and luxurious, but also full of sensuality,” the company said in a press release.
Lohan also had a night on the town with photographer Terry Richardson in New York City recently. Richardson is fresh of completing a year-long book project with Lady Gaga.
Lohan actually got her start as a child model, even before joining the Disney ranks. By the age of 10, she had been in campaigns for Calvin Klein and Abercrombie and Fitch, as well as in over 1,000 television commercials. During her movie career, Lohan was the subject of a number magazine fashion editorials, the most famous likely being the New York magazine spread in which she recreated Marilyn Monroe's final photo shoot.
Ali Lohan, Lindsay's sister, is also a model. Following in her sister's footsteps, Ali Lohan graced the tabloids earlier this month thanks to a rather drastic change in appearance that the rag-sheets labeled plastic surgery gone wrong.
Philipp Plein does not shy away from controversial celebrities. In 2010, they hired starlet Mischa Barton for an ad campaign. Barton's show The Beautiful Life had just been cancelled, and as Hollywood gossip would have it, Barton was hard to work with because of her drug use.
