Lindsay Lohan Jokes About Her 'Exhaustion' Pass Out Scare Via Twitter
Lindsay Lohan joked via Twitter about the health scare that caused paramedics to show up at her hotel room after she passed out from exhaustion on Friday, prompting erroneous reports that she was hospitalized.
Lindsay Lohan, who is currently filming Elizabeth Taylor biopic Liz and Dick (in which she stars as Liz herself), confirmed in the tweet that paramedics were indeed sent to her hotel room, but said the incident was blown way out of proportion and that she was not taken to the hospital and was not facing death, despite many breathless reports predicting just that.
Her tweet was not only revealing as to the intimate details of what happened that day, but also had a dose of snarky humor thrown in, Lohan-style:
Note to self.. After working 85hours in 4days, and being up all night shooting, be very aware that you might pass out from exhaustion & 7 paramedics MIGHT show up @ your door...., Lohan tweeted. Hopefully theyre cute. Otherwise it would be a real let down. XL @mrsalperez -back on set.
The entertainment world breathed a collective sigh of relief when they discovered that this was just a scare, and that Lindsay Lohan was not the most recent celebrity to die at a young age.
Exhaustion has become a catchall phrase for celebrities who find themselves passing out from the use of drugs, their taxing lives, or other causes.
For instance, actress Demi Moore was hospitalized this year for exhaustion following a very public breakup with husband Ashton Kutcher.
And Wyclef Jean and Lindsay Lohan were both hospitalized for exhaustion in 2010 as their lives were being combed over by the media as so many celebrities' day-to-day existences are.
This time around, Lindsay Lohan was found unconscious in her hotel room at the Ritz-Carlton in Marina del Rey, Calif., Friday morning, according to E! Online. A 911 call was placed after a production staff person knocked on her room's door for several minutes and got no answer. The 25-year-old was found by paramedics, but Lohan representatives said she was not suffering from health problems, and that alcohol and drugs were not involved in the incident:
Lindsay has been working a grueling schedule for the last couple of days, Lohan rep Steve Honig told E!. [Thursday] night she worked from 7 p.m. to 8 a.m. She was exhausted and went back to her room to sleep. Producers were apparently concerned and called for the fire department, and paramedics found her sleeping, but determined she was fine, just extremely exhausted and slightly dehydrated.
Lohan has also been tapped to star in a film adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' The Canyons alongside porn star James Deen.
