Lindsay Lohan Is a No Show At Court Hearing, A Look Back On Starlet’s Best Courtroom Outfits [PHOTOS]
Lindsay Lohan was slated to appear in court Monday in connection with a fight at a Manhattan nightclub fight that took place back in November, but the starlet was a no-show.
According to Lohan’s attorney, Mark Jay Heller, she did not have to appear in court since there was no accusatory document. Office of Court Administration spokesman David Bookstaver said Lohan was summoned to court to sign paperwork, but was not scheduled for a hearing since a criminal complaint had not been drawn up. Heller told reporters on Monday that he signed the paperwork on Lohan’s behalf.
Lohan was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor assault Nov. 29 at club Avenue with a woman named Tiffany Ava Mitchell. Lohan allegedly struck the professional psychic who was also trying to get attention from Max George of The Wanted
However, Lohan’s lawyer said she was "a victim of someone trying to capture their 15 minutes of fame” and “never made any physical contact with the alleged victim.”
“From my understanding, Lindsay was being approached by a fortune teller who sought to provide a reading to her and she politely said ‘I don’t want to participate’ and declined,” Heller said. “You would think if [Mitchell] was a fortune teller, she would have been able to see this happening in advance. But obviously her skills weren’t that honed.”
Heller said “other individuals became very aggressive. Lindsay Lohan did not commit any crime, she did not assault anyone, all she did is verbally request her privacy.”
The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office said the investigation into the case is continuing, ABC News reported.
