Lindsay Lohan pleads “no contest,” receives 120 days of house arrest
Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan pleaded no contest to misdemeanor theft through her lawyer on Wednesday. By doing this, she avoided jail time but received 120 days of house arrest instead.
Lohan will not have to undergo substance-abuse counseling or get additional time for theft. Judge Stephanie Sautner said she believes that Lohan's problem isn't substance abuse but self-medicating to relieve deeper problems, TMZ reports.
The actress will have to serve 120 days for her probation violation at home with an electronic monitoring device.
TMZ reports that the 120 days are likely to be reduced to 14 days. During that time, Lohan can't leave her home even for community service.
In addition to all of this, Lohan will have to complete psychological counseling and a shoplifter's alternative class. She will also have to complete 480 hours of community service.
Once all of this is completed, TMZ reports that her probation will be done with. Only time will tell if this will be the end of it.
