Michael Lohan, father of actress Lindsay Lohan, was arrested on Monday, on suspicion of domestic violence.

A statement from police authorities on Tuesday said that they had received a domestic violence call from Lohan's home. The statement added that officials arrested Lohan, on arrival, for battery of his live-in girlfriend.

Lohan, 51, complained of chest pains when he was taken into custody and was taken to a hospital. He checked himself out and was then placed under arrest, the statement continued.

Lohan had, allegedly, grabbed his girlfriend's arms and pushed her down during a day-long argument. The cause of the fight between Lohan and Kathryn Major, 28, was a scheduled court date in Sarasota County on Tuesday, for a previous domestic violence case. Lohan was also arrested in Los Angeles, last March, in connection with alleged domestic violence.
