Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi could break two incredible goal records when LaLiga officially returns.

Ever since Barcelona fans can remember, Messi has been bagging goals for the club. He has broken and set new records throughout his stellar career. Apparently, the six-time Ballon d’Or winner has no plans of slowing down. In fact, Messi on the verge of surpassing soccer legend Pele and Spanish legend Telmo Zarra as soon as he set foot on the pitch once again.

According to a report from Everything Barca, Messi is the only active player in LaLiga who has a rare opportunity to break Pele and Zarra’s long-standing goal milestones.

Spanish goal scorer Zarra, currently holds a record of six Pichichi Trophies, after being the highest LaLiga goal scorer in six different seasons. The said feat was already matched by Messi and based on how he has been playing prior to the lockdown, he could cop the recognition once again this season.

Pele, on the other hand, is still the player who has the most goals with a single club, currently holding the title with a total of 643 goals with Santos. This record is likely to end as the Argentine icon closes in with 627 for Barcelona (excluding friendlies).

Messi will have to break these historic feats within the remaining 11 league games of the season.
